I'm trying to remember the summer of '08

I remember moving out for my first time from my tense quarters. Things had been getting edgy with the step-dad; my time to leave was there, the tension was palpable, kind of soggy after a while.

Moved to Three Springs, the commune.

With Susan, Keary, John, Paola, Dale, Rio, Dawn, Diana, Gho, Jizee, Ramona, and eventually Ben. Not to mention all the little kids runnin' around; Daisy, Ian, Ian (Rio's son), Jeremiah, and Logan. Smoking weed and working in the garden two days a week, cutting flowers, making bouquets, harvesting vegetables, dibbling, planting seeds, etc. It was a great experience to be around so many different kinds of people. And with such diversity came so much conflict. After I left Three Springs I found out after a vicious snarl from Ramona and Diana to Susan, the two lesbians left together. Oh well, I am going to miss them. All though they had issues with the way things were run around their, I think we connected on a more proletariat kind of basis. The conversations we shared were very enriching for me. And I'm going to miss them both dearly. I hope someday we'll cross paths again. But it's not likely to happen so boohoo oh well.

I miss my cabin. With it's turquoise painted and screen walls. All the mosquitoes and turkeys at night. The creek right there. And having to squat and pee off my porch at night, getting little mosquito bites on my ass occasionally.

And the spiders and skunks and noises at night and the pine needles and skinny dipping and soy milk and flowers and bees.

OH THE BEES. Friendly little bastards. "Oh did I bump you Mr. Bumble Bee? I'm terribly sorry." "No Holly, don't mind me. I'm just doing what bees do best. Now if you'll excuse me I must collect the pollen from the lavender now."

But that's just half of the summer.
Don't even get me started on the Europeans and the parties..
